If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US). In an emergency, call 911. This site is educational and does not provide counseling or clinical services.
Who this is for
Counseling Grad Companion is an independent educational study aid for adult counseling students. It supplements coursework and supervised training. It does not provide counseling, legal advice, clinical supervision, academic credit, accreditation, or official examination services.
Academic integrity
Use the materials to learn and practice. Follow your institution’s rules. Do not submit practice material as your own original assignment, use this site during a prohibited examination, upload recalled exam questions, fabricate references, or use it to impersonate another student. No feature generates a paper for submission.
Information we store
If you create an account, we store your chosen username, a salted password hash, a hashed recovery code, session records, study-plan preferences, your optional program choice and program-addition request, lesson completions, and practice attempts. We do not collect your school login or require an email address for study accounts. For invited pilot users, we also store the invitation claim time, an opaque invitation identifier, and the free-access expiry date. Invitation codes placed in a link are held in that browser tab for up to one hour during sign-in and removed after activation. At future checkout, a billing email is required and sent to Square to prefill checkout for billing and renewal communications. It is stored for billing receipts, renewal notices and deletion completion, and is not used for study-account recovery. Square independently collects information needed for payments.
The free writing check reads uploaded .docx, PDF, and .txt documents locally as text. It does not send file bytes, extracted drafts, instructions, rubrics, or resources to our server. These materials remain in the open page’s memory and are cleared when you clear the packet or leave or reload the page. The local check examines writing signals in the draft; it does not compare the draft against supporting materials. Do not enter identifiable client information. Your own browser extensions may operate independently of this site.
Optional assignment-aware AI review
Availability depends on completion of the service configuration and review requirements. When available, it requires sign-in, membership or a pilot invitation, and your explicit consent for each packet. Only after consent, extracted text and filenames pass through our server to OpenAI for suggestions. Do not provide identifiable client information or materials you do not have permission to share. We do not store your documents or AI feedback in our application database or logs. Temporary hashed request records prevent duplicate requests and enforce usage limits; no document text or filenames are included in those records. Clearing the page cannot recall information already sent.
AI requests use non-stored responses, without persistent file uploads or conversations. OpenAI may retain API content for abuse monitoring, generally up to 30 days, subject to its published controls. This is not a zero-retention promise. Instructors may interpret requirements differently; suggestions do not guarantee a grade, clinical accuracy, source validity, or full APA and formatting compliance.
Service providers & cookies
Cloudflare hosts the application and database and may process connection information such as IP addresses and security logs under its own policies. An essential, HttpOnly session cookie keeps you signed in for up to seven days. We do not add advertising trackers or sell your study data.
Lesson videos are delivered by this website through Cloudflare after you choose “Watch lesson.” Video and caption requests check your signed-in account and current video access. Playback does not load YouTube or advertising trackers. Internet access is required. Authorized members can read the transcript without playing the video; written lessons remain free.
Account security & recovery
Use a unique password and save the recovery code shown when you register. Recovery resets the password, invalidates prior sessions, and replaces the recovery code. We do not send email resets. Losing both the password and recovery code can prevent you from recovering the study account; billing can still be managed through Square’s customer communications.
Subscriptions & cancellations
Sales are currently closed. The planned membership price is $8 per month, billed through Square, with renewal until cancellation. The final checkout must show the amount and frequency before payment. Cancel renewals from Membership. Access follows verified payment, not merely a checkout redirect. Taxes, if applicable, must be disclosed at checkout.
Cancellation stops future renewal and does not itself refund a paid period. Duplicate charges or service-access problems should be reported to billing support. This policy does not limit rights required by applicable law.
Data access & removal
You can review your saved study information in My Progress. A study-data export and clearing control is available on that page. Clearing study data retains your account and does not cancel a Square subscription. Account deletion requires your current password and explicit confirmation. Email is optional. The operator’s staged policy is to initiate cancellation of future renewals immediately after a password-verified deletion request, automatically remove the account and saved content/profile within 30 days, and provide private completion confirmation in Account in this browser. Email is not required to complete deletion. Square schedules effective cancellation according to its billing period; no immediate effective termination or refund is promised. The operator retains only payment/invoice IDs for seven calendar years from account deletion for its tax-record policy. This is an operator-selected policy, not a universal legal requirement. Completion-email addresses are held only while delivery is pending and removed after acknowledged sending; an opaque delivery key remains to prevent duplicates. A scheduled processor must be activated before requests are accepted; email sender availability does not block deletion. Unsent email remains queued without claiming delivery. A private HttpOnly cookie permits status lookup after sign-out/deletion. Its server record holds only a token hash, completion state and expiry after the job link is removed, and expires 30 days after deletion. Clearing the cookie removes access; no name/email lookup is retained for confirmation. Annual reminders are disabled while only the USD $8 monthly plan is offered. Unresolved billing/checkout ownership blocks deletion and needs resolution before the 30-day deadline. Financial records retained by Square are governed by Square and applicable requirements.
Content limitations
Content is introductory and may need correction or updates. Question scores are practice feedback, not predictions. Program requests are visible to our editorial team for prioritizing course-map development and can be withdrawn in Account. We do not automatically publish requests or verify a program based on a request. Course maps use public catalogs and shortened course labels; they are not an official degree audit. CACREP, NBCC, CCE, Liberty University, Grand Canyon University, the University of the Cumberlands, and Southeastern University do not endorse this resource.
